New York Clippers : ウィキペディア英語版 | New York Clippers The New York Clippers was a softball franchise based in Mount Vernon, New York and playing in the American Professional Slow Pitch League. They played for only one season, in 1977. ==Team history== Their home games were played at Memorial Stadium in Mount Vernon. The stadium's 300-foot fence contributed to the high scores recorded in many of the Clippers' games. Players on that 1977 team included Larry Chiapetta, Mike Foley, Gary Richter, Steve Shurina, Mike "The Machine" Melillo, and Jim Galloway. Mike Foley hit 32 home runs for the Clippers in 1977, while Jim Galloway homered 26 times.
